Casual wear for short woman

my height is 5.2,can u suggest some dressing tips for casuals that short people can carry off well..

Jane's answer... Hi Disha. As a woman of 5'2" you are classified as a petite clothing size regardless of your weight. You should find my petite clothes article useful.

Your style aims will still be to suit your coloring and your body shape. However, there are a few extra rules that apply to petites. The style rules will be the same for casual wear, smart casual or any other lifestyle designation.

General tips to flatter a short frame and appear taller include...

• Keep the scale of design features such as lapels, collars, shoulders, pockets, prints and accessories in keeping with your shorter height. You don't want your clothes or accessories to swamp you!


• Monochrome outfits will make you appear taller. Tops and bottoms don't need to be exactly the same color to be seen as monotone. You can also include items with texture to add interest


• Wearing lighter and brighter colors on top will also make you look taller


• You will look best when your pants are full length rather than three-quarter length and when your dresses, skirts and shorts are knee length or above
