Jane's Jottings

Hello {!firstname}

I got back from my holiday 2 weeks ago and, in spite of the weather (mostly cold and wet), I'm busy reviewing wardrobes and shopping for Spring clothes.

I had a lovely time in the UK and Swizerland, but it's good to be home. Although I am looking forward to warmer and drier weather!

This month I've enjoyed answering 2 questions from readers.

By the time I release next month's Style Snippets I hope I'll have my new look website released! All the pre-release feedback has indicated it's better (more modern and stylish) than the current look, so I hope you'll like it! The new logo, at the top of this newsletter, is an indication of what's coming!

Enjoy this month's Style Snippets. Until next month, all the best

Jane

PS I always welcome your feedback, so please contact me with anything you'd like to see either on the website or in this newsletter (reply to this email or use the Contact Me link below).

Your Questions Answered

Each month I pick 1-3 questions I've been asked that I think other readers will be interested in and publish them here. You can ask me questions or share your style story either directly on my website or through my contact me form.

Q: Where is the top of your skirt supposed to sit?

A:  This question fits nicely with some skirt questions I've answered recently (I've linked to them at the bottom of my answer to this question), and with a few more skirt styles being available in the stores than there have been of late.

Q: How to be a stylish pear, over 50, over weight and not sophisticated or classic? from Karen of Sydney

A:  A while ago I answered a reader's question about how to be a 'stylish summer pear'. Karen couldn't identify with any of the outfit ideas I presented in that answer. She says her style is more boho. I've given her some boho-inspired ideas suitable for her shape here...

Spring Wardrobe Update

You might think it's too early to start thinking about warmer weather just now. However, Spring is just around the corner (we had a glimpse of this on the weekend) and the new season's clothes are appearing in the shops.

So, now is a really good time to review the state of your clothes for the coming season. This is especially true if you find it difficult finding certain items, such as great fitting pants, or interesting tops. It's better to have a good range of options to choose from. But do start first with a review of what you have to ensure you aren't needlessly replicating items you already have.

Of course, I'd love to help you with this process. If I haven't seen you before we should start at step one below. Otherwise we can start at step two.

Wardrobe Magic in 3 Steps:

1. Getting to know you: proportions; colours; personality

2. Wardrobe workout: outfit creation; culling; fixing; shopping plan

3. Building your wardrobe: shopping; more outfit creation
