Jane's Jottings

Hello {!firstname}

I don't know about where you live, but here in Sydney the season feels as though it has changed. Even though we are still getting nice, warm, sunny days inbetween the rainy spells, there's now a cool crispness to the mornings and evenings. And the humidity has gone. The change of season is a really good time to clearout your wardrobe and to plan for the upcoming fashion season.

I'm off to Perth for another family wedding this week. When I get back I'll be running another clothes swap session.

Enjoy this month's Style Snippets. Until next month, all the best

PS I always welcome your feedback, so please contact me with anything you'd like to see either on the website or in this newsletter (reply to this email or use the Contact Me link below).

Wardrobe clearout time!

It's that time of year when I urge you to take the time to take stock of your wardrobe. Clearout what's tired, no longer fits, or you haven't worn for quite some time and plan what you need to make your wardrobe work for the coming season.

Create a capsule wardrobe

Recently quite a few of my clients have asked specifically for help with creating a small wardrobe of mix and match clothing. The aim is to buy fewer new things and wear the clothes that you have more often.

Your Questions Answered

Each month I pick 1-3 questions I've been asked that I think other readers will be interested in and publish them here. You can ask me questions or share your style story either directly on my website or through my contact me form.

Q: How do I style curly hair? from Rebecca of NSW, Australia

A: Rebecca says she has hair similar to mine (that is, curly) and wants to know how I style my hair and what products I use.

Q: What clothes should I wear to look good? from Aimee

A:  Aimee has identified her horizontal body shape and is bored with the styles she has been wearing. She is in a wheelchair and wants to know what other styles will suit her. This is particularly important to her since she is a student and so has a limited budget and doesn't want to buy things that she won't wear.

Q: Visiting Southern Australia in May, what's in fashion? from Rebecca of Michigan, USA

If you live in South Australia and would like to add your comments to help Rebecca please do so using the link underneath my answer.

Clothes swap thursday 29th April 10.30am-1.30pm

If you live in or near Avalon on Sydney's Northern Beaches and would like to recycle the clothes you rejected after your wardrobe clearout and have the opportunity to re-stock your wardrobe with someone else's pre-loved clothes and accessories mark this date in your diary. No money changes hands at this event -- it is purely a re-cycling exercise. And good fun to boot!

Places are strictly limited, by the size of he venue, so let me know if you'd like to come (reply to this email) and I'll send you the details. My photographer friend, Nelly le Comte, has kindly offered to host the event this time.
